Pocket Fire update: As of July 22, the Pocket Fire north of Sedona is 95 percent contained at 27,393 acres. Sedona itself is open for business, with Uptown, West Sedona, Tlaquepaque, the Chapel area, and the Village of Oak Creek all operating normally, and State Route 89A is passable between Sedona and I-17. Oak Creek Canyon and the Seven Canyons area remain at READY status (be prepared, not ordered to evacuate), and some trail and recreation area closures persist in the Coconino National Forest while crews finish restoration work. There’s a lot happening in Sedona this week, from a hummingbird-filled festival weekend to outdoor movie nights under the stars. Now open in Clarkdale: The Newstand has brought one of Old Town Clarkdale’s landmark buildings back to life.
