What’s Happening in Sedona This Week: August 14 to August 20, 2026

Events in Sedona August 14 — Red Rock Country

Trail and Creek Alert: The Pocket Fire that burned north of Sedona this summer is 100 percent contained at 27,393 acres, and Sedona itself is open and operating normally with State Route 89A open between Sedona and I-17. That said, several recreation areas remain closed while burned watersheds stabilize: Bear Sign Trail, David Miller Trail, Dry Creek Trail, HS Canyon Trail, Secret Canyon Trail, and West Fork Trail are all closed, along with Manzanita Campground and several Oak Creek Canyon picnic sites. Portions of Oak Creek within 100 feet of either bank are also closed due to flash flood risk, and the Slide Rock State Park swim area is closed through October 1. Check the Visit Sedona Pocket Fire update page daily before you head out.

Monsoon clouds are still rolling over the buttes most afternoons, which makes for a good excuse to plan indoor sound baths and evening concerts around your hikes this week. There is a genuinely packed slate of events in Sedona August 14 through 20, from a Sedona Film Festival double feature to a consciousness conference, a farmers market, and a couple of Verde Valley nights out worth the drive. Here is everything confirmed for the week, day by day.

Friday, August 14

Cottonwood Farmers Market at Old Town Square | 4:00 to 8:00 PM | Old Town Square, 1042 N. Main St., Cottonwood | Free entry. Local produce, baked goods, and handmade crafts fill Old Town on Friday evenings, with several food vendors on site so you can make a meal of it. Street parking fills up fast, so arrive early or park a block off Main.

Yoga Nidra and Hatha Yoga | 9:00 to 10:00 AM | Down Dog Sedona, 110 Rockridge Drive, Sedona | Price varies, preregistration required. This weekly class alternates a deeply relaxing guided Yoga Nidra meditation with a slower-paced Hatha practice, no flexibility or experience needed. Mats and blankets are provided, but reserve your spot online since space is limited.

Aerial Sound Healing in Sedona | 1:00 to 2:15 PM | Down Dog Sedona, 1785 W. State Route 89A, Suite 1B, Sedona | Price varies, preregistration required. This restorative session combines gentle suspension in an aerial hammock with crystal sound bowls for a full nervous-system reset. Reservations close two hours before the session, so book ahead rather than trying to walk in.

‘Olmo’ Film Premiere | 3:30 PM, Friday through Monday | Alice Gill-Sheldon Theatre, 2030 W. State Route 89A, Sedona | $12 general, $9 Film Festival members. The Sedona International Film Festival’s Northern Arizona premiere follows a fourteen-year-old boy in 1979 New Mexico caring for his ill father, from the producers of “Minari” and “Moonlight.” Buy tickets online in advance, since this small theatre sells out for festival premieres.

‘The Piano’ Worldwide Film Encore | 4:00 PM, Friday through Sunday | Mary D. Fisher Theatre, 2030 W. State Route 89A, Sedona | $12 general, $9 Film Festival members. Jane Campion’s Oscar-winning classic returns in a newly restored 4K version, starring Holly Hunter and Harvey Keitel. It is a short walk from the Alice Theatre, so film lovers can pair it with ‘Olmo’ for a double feature weekend.

Indoor Line Dancing at Blazin’ M Ranch | 5:30 to 8:30 PM | Blazin’ M Ranch Western Dinner Theater, 1875 Mabery Ranch Rd., Cottonwood | $20, includes one drink. Beginner instruction runs 6:00 to 7:00 PM followed by open dancing with a DJ in the air-conditioned barn, no partner or experience required. Food specials include dollar wings and eight dollar draft beers, a good option on a hot summer evening.

Saturday, August 15

Divine Alignment in Sedona | Saturday 10:00 AM to Sunday 3:00 PM | Humankind Center, 1730 W. State Route 89A, Sedona | $167.24 general admission. This two-day consciousness conference brings in speakers Laura Eisenhower, Dr. Sharnael Wolverton Sehon, and Lily Nova for workshops on meditation, healing, and personal development. Early bird pricing is already sold out, so book general admission online if you want in.

Divine Alignment: After Dark | 8:00 PM to 12:00 AM | Humankind Center, 1730 W. State Route 89A, Sedona | $25.31 add-on ticket. The official dance party of the Divine Alignment conference is open as an add-on even if you skip the daytime sessions. It is indoors, so it is a solid pick if monsoon storms roll through that evening.

Fiddler on the Rock Concerts | 6:45 to 8:15 PM, doors at 6:30 PM | Sedona Dances Headquarters, 2160 Shelby Drive #203, Sedona | $55 general, $85 VIP, $22 children. Virtuoso musician Tyler Carson blends live violin with cinematic audiovisuals and storytelling in a show that sold out at the Sedona Film Festival and has been featured on CBS Mornings. Seating is limited in this intimate venue, so buy tickets ahead rather than at the door.

HSS 60th Anniversary Open House | 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM | Humane Society of Sedona, 2115 Shelby Drive, Sedona | Free. The shelter marks 60 years with live music, a live sculpting demonstration by artist Ken Rowe, shelter tours, and an open adoption day where you can meet and adopt animals with no appointment needed. Bring the kids, and be ready to fall in love with a foster.

Paint Your Pet! (on canvas) | 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Saturday and Sunday | Lovejoy Creations, West Sedona outdoor studio | Price varies, email your pet photo ahead. This three-hour guided painting session walks you through a pop art or realistic portrait of your pet, all supplies included, mimosas optional (bring your own champagne). It is a shaded outdoor studio, so it stays comfortable even on a warm August morning.

Fort Verde’s Living History Presentation: The Commissary of Subsistence, A Bite to Eat | 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM | Fort Verde State Historic Park, Camp Verde | Standard park admission. Living history interpreters set up a period camp and demonstrate how the fort’s commissary detail fed troops working the road to Fort Apache. It is an easy add-on to a Verde Valley day trip, especially paired with lunch in Old Town Cottonwood on the way back.

Sunday, August 16

Sedona Community Farmers Market | 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM | Wells Fargo Bank parking lot, 2201 W. State Route 89A, West Sedona | Free entry. This is the market’s summer schedule, running weekly through October 25 with local produce, prepared foods, and crafts. Go early, both for the best selection and to beat the heat before you keep exploring.

Divine Alignment in Sedona (day two) | Continues to 3:00 PM | Humankind Center, 1730 W. State Route 89A, Sedona | $167.24 general admission. See Saturday’s listing for details on this two-day consciousness conference; Sunday wraps with closing sessions before the evening Divasonic performance.

Divasonic: Ethereal Sound Voyage with Lynda Arnold | 6:00 to 9:00 PM | Humankind Center, 1730 W. State Route 89A, Sedona | $37.05 to $48.80. Sound artist Lynda Arnold closes out the Divine Alignment weekend with live looping, world flutes, handpan, and layered vocals built for lying back and drifting off. Bring a mat or cushion, since much of the audience lies down for the full immersion.

Flamenco Music in the Courtyard | 5:30 to 7:30 PM | Tlaquepaque Arts and Shopping Village, Patio de Las Campanas, 336 SR 179, Sedona | Free admission. Master guitarist Gaetano and his ensemble play Latin flamenco in the open courtyard, with tapas, margaritas, and sangria available from the outdoor bar. Grab a seat by 5:15 PM if you want a table near the music rather than standing room.

Kirtan Mantra Meditation and Dinner | 5:30 to 8:00 PM | Oldtown Meditation Center, Cottonwood | Free. Community call-and-response chanting is followed by a shared meal, a relaxed way to close out the weekend in the Verde Valley. Newcomers are welcome even with zero chanting experience.

Monday, August 17

Flamenco Music in the Courtyard | 5:30 to 7:30 PM | Tlaquepaque Arts and Shopping Village, Patio de Las Campanas, 336 SR 179, Sedona | Free admission. This is the last night of the Sunday-through-Tuesday flamenco run for the week, with guitarist Gaetano and percussionists in the courtyard. It picks back up next Sunday if you miss it tonight.

‘Olmo’ Film Premiere | 3:30 PM | Alice Gill-Sheldon Theatre, 2030 W. State Route 89A, Sedona | $12 general, $9 Film Festival members. See Friday’s listing for the full description; this is the final day at the 3:30 PM slot before the film shifts to evening showtimes.

Monday is otherwise a quiet one on the calendar, which makes it a good day to take advantage of the current trail closures being limited to the burn area. Head south instead: the West Fork and Bear Sign trails are closed, but Bell Rock and Courthouse Butte Loop are open, easy to reach, and quieter on a weekday morning before the afternoon monsoon clouds build.

Tuesday, August 18

Flamenco Music in the Courtyard | 5:30 to 7:30 PM | Tlaquepaque Arts and Shopping Village, Patio de Las Campanas, 336 SR 179, Sedona | Free admission. Final night of this week’s flamenco run, with the full trio playing under the courtyard lights. Pair it with dinner at El Rincon Restaurante Mexicano next door.

‘Olmo’ Film Premiere | 6:30 PM | Alice Gill-Sheldon Theatre, 2030 W. State Route 89A, Sedona | $12 general, $9 Film Festival members. See Friday’s listing for the full description; the film moves to its evening 6:30 PM slot for the back half of the week.

‘The Piano’ Worldwide Film Encore | 7:00 PM | Mary D. Fisher Theatre, 2030 W. State Route 89A, Sedona | $12 general, $9 Film Festival members. See Friday’s listing for the full description; showtime shifts to 7:00 PM starting Monday.

Wednesday, August 19

‘Olmo’ Film Premiere | 6:30 PM | Alice Gill-Sheldon Theatre, 2030 W. State Route 89A, Sedona | $12 general, $9 Film Festival members. See Friday’s listing for the full description.

‘The Piano’ Worldwide Film Encore | 7:00 PM, final showing | Mary D. Fisher Theatre, 2030 W. State Route 89A, Sedona | $12 general, $9 Film Festival members. This is the last night for the restored 4K encore of Jane Campion’s film before it leaves the Mary D. Fisher schedule. Get tickets online ahead of time since final showings tend to fill.

With the calendar light otherwise, Wednesday is a good day for a Verde Valley detour. Drive up to Jerome for lunch and gallery browsing on Main Street, or book a tasting room in the Verde Valley Wine Trail around Cottonwood and Page Springs while you wait for cooler evening temperatures.

Thursday, August 20

‘Olmo’ Film Premiere | 6:30 PM, final showing | Alice Gill-Sheldon Theatre, 2030 W. State Route 89A, Sedona | $12 general, $9 Film Festival members. Last chance to catch this Northern Arizona premiere before the festival’s next title rotates in. See Friday’s listing for the full description.

Fiddler on the Rock Concerts | 5:45 to 7:15 PM | Sedona Dances Headquarters, 2160 Shelby Drive #203, Sedona | $55 general, $85 VIP, $22 children. Tyler Carson’s cinematic violin show adds a second performance this week. See Saturday’s listing for details, and book ahead since the room is small.

Sound Bath / Tai Chi / Qigong / Yoga | 4:00 to 5:00 PM | Sedona Wellness Cafe, 340 Jordan Rd., Sedona | Price varies. This weekly hour blends gentle Tai Chi, Qigong, and yoga with closing sound bath relaxation, a good reset after a hot day outdoors. Walk-ins are welcome, but call ahead if you want a mat held for you.

Chef Kyle Rhodes’ Sedona Culinary Series: Northern Arizona, On the Plate | 6:00 to 9:00 PM | Forty1 at Ambiente, A Landscape Hotel, 900 State Route 89A, Sedona | Reservation required, wine pairings included. Executive Chef Kyle Rhodes hosts an intimate five-course tasting menu limited to 20 guests, with a cocktail reception and stargazing led by a professional astronomer. Reserve well ahead, since this series caps out fast at such a small capacity.
